Join Om Shanti as Bodhi Tree Yoga travels off to Nepal AND India March 2020.
This 2 week Retreat begins with a journey to Nagorkot Nepal. Nestled just outside the Kathmandu Valley and surrounded by the Himalayas, the first section of this retreat will be a 6 night stay at Niru Yoga Homestay. Here, enjoy daily yoga classes, trekking through the mountain range and surrounding forrest, nature and wildlife. We will visit local temples, historical sites such as Bhaktapur, witness the sunrise over the Himalayas (even spotting Everest amongst the mountains). Rajan’s knowledge of the local history, of the surrounding areas, the land and the people makes for a rich experience filled with joy. His wife Niru is a magician in the kitchen as she preps 3 organic vegetarian meals’s per day, locally grown on their land! She happily offers to teach how to cook these meals with a smile as plentiful as the food offered!
On the 7th day of this Himalayan Retreat, we will journey off to Rishikesh India for the second leg of this trip. Once arrived in India, we will settle into Anand Prakash Yoga Ashram’s Uma Kutir and take part of some of the ashrams daily activities, including daily morning yoga class, Agni Hotra, and sattvic vegetarian meals. Here, the Indian leg of our retreat will have us enjoying local activities such as rafting down the Ganges river, trekking in the surrounding mountain range, a day trip to visit the now famous “Beatles Ashram”, a day trip to Sasar Gyan Patshala – the school that Helping Hands for India supports, visiting local temples, holy sites… and relaxation of course!
